Centre of Social Concern and Education of Infants and Babies

Intention of the Public Entity is to provide education at children of preschool age in order to:

1.       Have a daily protection, care and diet.

2.       Develop physically, intellectually, sentimentally and socially.

3.       Be included smoothly in the Primary School.

4.       Be provided with compensational education, so that the cultural, economic, educational differences of their environment will be as much as possible eliminated.

5.       Serve those parents who work and constitute a centre of social policy and assistance (sensitize parents on pedagogic and children's entertainment issues).

The capacity of this Public Entity is approximately 330 children.

The huge Social Activity of the Centre is presented as follow:

1.       In collaboration with the pediatrician Mr. Seizi, a new diet was applied according to the modern dietetic methods.

2.       Meetings with the parents whose children are entertained at the Day Nursery have been realized twice.

3.       An Association of parents has been created.

4.       New equipment has been supplied (computers in the A΄ D.N., copier at B΄ D.N., doorbells have been changed, creation of a central library with many books, creation of cloakroom (uniforms will remain in the Public Entity so that they can be re-used).

5.       New furniture along with small and big games have been supplied.

6.       Celebrations have been realized (Christmas - Easter and one at the end of the year) while we participated in the carnival events, with our own uniforms.

7.       A puppet show for children of the Day Nurseries was presented while a seminar with subject "Psychokinetic Development of our Children" and how to set up a puppet show was realized for the educational personnel by Mrs Xiromeriti.

8.       Puppet show demonstration has been presented by the puppet show of Lamia.

9.       Educational excursions have been realized (at the library on the World Book Day, at the wine factory of Boutari, at the faculty of Patrolmen etc).

10.   On Christmas days visits have been realized at the Centre of Elderly Citizens' Protection, Hospital, Nursing home and the faculty of Patrolmen where Christmas performances had been rendered.

11.   Presents had been supplied and shared to Infants during Christmas while souvenirs had been gifted at Easter and summertime.

12.   The personnel attended training seminars to enrich their knowledge in administrative and educational issues.

13.   In order to protect the infants regular disinfections have been realized during the year while the floor has been wiped per trimester for microbes and viruses.

Some of the most important decisions that have been taken by the administration of the Centre are reported below:

1.       Reduction of the board fees from 60 Euros to 40 and from 45 Euros to 20. The third child is free of charge.

2.       Children of both working and non-working mothers can be registered during the year. There is no application that is pending.

3.       The elastic working hours of some employed has been withdrawn so that the working hours of the Centre is loyally kept.

4.       Written permission of exit and vacation card (regular, parental etc) hahave been established.

5.       A uniform for the personnel of auxiliary work (chefs - cleaners) has been obligatory established.

6.       The Organism of Internal Service and the Regulation of the Public Entity's operation have been completed.

7.       A small present to the children has been established.

8.       Clothes have been supplied by all the Day Nurseries in case a child needs to be changed.

The Centre materializes many infrastructure and maintenance projects in order to offer better and more qualified social services to all people. Thus the Centre has realized the following:

1.       The building of PIKPA was rendered busheled in May 2007 and operated fully equipped in September.

2.      In 2009 the new Baby Farm of 65 infants' capacity operated in Valia

3.      Boiler of Stenimachos - luminous traffic lights 

4.      Replacement of the radiator at the B΄D.N. of Naoussa

5.      Completion of a 10.000 Euros project at the B' D.N. of Naoussa (DIPON department) by DIKENA.

6.       Reconstruction of the kitchen at the B' D.N. of Naoussa

7.       Reconstruction of the floor at the B' D.N. of Naoussa

8.       Construction of a playground at the B' D.N. of Naoussa

9.       The internal oil-painting of the B' D.N. of Naoussa was completed whereas paintings of childish representations were created. The entry was changed.

10.   The A' D.N. of Naoussa was painted while the wooden frames and the fence were maintained.

11.   The gutters of the B' D.N. of Naoussa were replaced

12.   A new Video Room with new furniture and video was created at the B' D.N. of Naoussa (old office).

13.   An internal playground was created at the veranda of the B' D.N. of Naoussa which was a dump and pollution point. A worker, who was engaged with two-month convention, helped us to throw all useless objects and cleaned the place.

14.   The departments of A΄ and B΄ Day Nurseries along with the Management office were equipped with new technology computers and modern furniture.

15.   All the departments were equipped with new supervisory material, games, fairy tales etc which are essential for the educational effort of the Centre. The central Library was enriched with new book publications.

The Board of Directors is the supreme membership of this Public Entity which mainly modulates the strategy and policy and supervises and inspects the management of its finance. According to the Municipal Code, the Board of Directors is constituted by 9 members who are appointed by the Municipal Council and the Municipal Adviser Mrs Itskara - Thanasouli Eudoxia has been defined as the Chairman.
